Litigants in Person

It is a well known fact that Litigant in Person’s are now flooding the courts, mainly due to the limited availability of legal aid and due to the easy access to information on the internet.  It is a confusing and stressful task to conduct your own case, especially when you are dealing with disputes in relation to your children and finances.

Shortlands Law Firm Ltd accepts many cannot afford to instruct a solicitor throughout their case.  However, in order to alleviate worries and stress, we are happy to offer support whenever needed at a reasonable cost.  This could be with drafting initial applications with regard to Child Arrangement Orders, completing Form Es in respect of finances, advising on the drafting of Statements, negotiating a settlement or simply with drawing up final agreements to ensure that all has been covered without any unfavourable repercussions in the future.

We would encourage a Litigant in Person to take advantage of our fixed fee initial consultation so that they are fully aware of their rights and the outcome they can achieve in respect of their case.

There is also always an alternative to court.  Shortlands Law Firm Ltd offers mediation and collaborative law options so you can settle your case speedily and at a fixed cost.  Our aim is to ensure you receive quality advice at a reasonable cost so that the stress of an already traumatic situation is reduced.
